Can you imagine anything tastier than a pretzel? If the first thing that springs to mind is a hot dog, then we have a recipe that will blow your mind. These pretzel dogs combine everything that's good about both pretzels and hot dogs into a dish that may well be the most delicious thing on God's green earth. Follow this recipe, courtesy of Great Harvest in Kalispell, to see if you agree.

10 hot dog sausages
1 cup water (tepid)
1 tbsp.superfine sugar
1 tbso. active dry yeast (you can find sachets in the baking aisle)
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
4 ¼ cups flour (whole wheat if you want a deeper, nuttier flavor, white if you want a classic pretzel)
6 cups water
5 ½  tbsp. baking soda
¼  cup each of sesame seeds and sunflower seeds (other seeds will do in a pinch)
3 tablespoons coarsesea salt

Fetch a large bowl and combine the water and sugar, then sprinkle the yeast over the top. Let this stand for around ten minutes or until very foamy. Beat one egg and stir this in along with the salt. Stir in the flour a cup at a time, continuing to mix until the dough starts to come together.

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Flour a surface and tip the dough onto it. Knead it, and add a little more flour if the dough begins to stick to the work surface. Knead for around 10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic, then shape it into a ball. Take 2 baking sheets and line them with parchment paper and set to one side.

Break your dough into ten equal pieces. Roll each into a rope about 12 inches long, then wrap each rope around a hot dog, leaving the tips of each sausage exposed. Pinch the dough together at each end to seal it.

Bring the 6 cups of water to a boil and add the baking soda. Using a slotted spoon, dip each dog into the boiling pot for around 30 seconds, then remove them, shake off any excess water, and lay them on the prepared baking sheets.

Make some egg wash by combining a beaten egg with a couple of tablespoons of water. Brush each dog with a generous amount of the egg wash, then sprinkle with seeds and sea salt. Bake for 16 to 18 minutes, or until they turn a mouthwatering golden-brown. Once you remove them from the oven, allow them to cool for ten minutes on a wire rack before serving with pots of hot mustard and tangy ketchup. Delicious!
